At Built From Ashes, every item is created with purpose, meaning, and care. Because many of our products are made-to-order, we ask customers to carefully review sizing, colors, and product details before purchasing.
Returns & Exchanges
We currently accept returns or exchanges only if:
- Your item arrives damaged
- Your item is defective
- You received the wrong product or size
If this happens, please contact us within 7 days of delivery with:
- Your order number
- A photo of the item
- A brief description of the issue
We’ll make it right as quickly as possible.
Non-Returnable Items
We do not accept returns or exchanges for:
- Incorrect sizes ordered by the customer
- Buyer’s remorse/change of mind
- Custom or personalized items
- Worn or washed products
Refunds
Approved refunds will be sent back to your original payment method. Please allow 5–10 business days for your bank or card provider to process the refund.
Cancellations
Orders may only be canceled within 12 hours of purchase due to production beginning quickly after orders are placed.

A couple things:
- This protects you pretty well legally for a small startup.
- It sounds professional without sounding cold.
- It works great for Shopify.
- Once you grow bigger later, you can expand it with shipping timelines and international policies.
I’d also recommend adding a tiny line near checkout like:
“Please double-check sizing before ordering. Many items are made-to-order.”
That alone cuts down a LOT of refund headaches later.
